In an era when music is lovingly shared among generations, it's nice to hear something guaranteed to piss off the old people. There's nothing offensive about the song itself a pretty simple three-chord, four-minute rock stomper. What wrinkled ears might find annoying is that "Crown on the Ground" was recorded INCREDIBLY LOUD, with the treble cranked up to make sure that each strum of the guitar sounds like the scrape of metal on metal. What saves it from being an experiment in masochism is the vocal exuberance of Alexis Krauss, a refugee from the teen pop group RubyBlue and a Bronx public school teacher who bounces over the fuzz with adorable mischief.
