During his eight terms in the House, Shaw has enjoyed solid support from this "gold coast" district. His work on this year's historic welfare-reform bill--as chair of the Ways and Means Subcommittee for Human Resources he added a provision to deny benefits to nonnaturalized legal immigrants--should help.
