The 2011 Hyundai Sonata aims to offer luxury for less, and with an expected price tag of less than $20,000 it's a serious contender. Designed to compete in the heart of the US market, the sleek new Sonata comes with a new four 2.4-liter, 4-cylinder engine and will get 23 miles per gallon in city driving and 35 mpg on the highway. The Sonata also has a six-speed automatic transmission or a standard six-speed manual transaxle. The exterior of the 2011 Sonata is long and low with a bold face and a large powerful chrome grille. While classified as a large car by the EPA because of its 120 cubic feet of interior space, Hyundai plans to have it compete in the mid-sized category with the Toyota Camry , Honda Accord and Chevrolet Malibu.
