Well, we now know what it would have sounded like if Cher had joined the Beatles. I don't blame Carly for what was actually a technically very good vocal, The problem is that a lot of Beatles songs had simple, understated vocals, but that's not what wins AI for you—and when you load up a beautiful ballad like this with glory notes, it sounds tacky. But tacky wins, and if her defensive response to the judges doesn't hurt her, she'll be fine.
