Marcello de Cartier Bag
Ultra-glam French jeweler Cartier offers more than watches and gems. Its latest addition, the Marcello de Cartier bag ($12,200), combines luxe finishes with classic materials like crocodile. The sleek, structured frame is roomy enough to tote daily essentials without sacrificing style. Created by Marlin Yuson, formerly of Calvin Klein, Marcello is Cartier's first major bag launch in years.
Microwave Drawer
Unsightly appliances are a thing of the past, thanks to the current trend of hiding them in drawers. The new Sharp Insight Pro Microwave Drawer ($850) is ideal for kitchens with islands or tight spaces. The 24-in. (60 cm) drawer can be inserted into most existing cabinetry, and the easy-open switch automatically operates the door, keeping spills out of sight. With 11 cooking settings and a keep-warm feature, the oven can put dinner on the table in a flash.
Michael Bastian
After five years overseeing men's fashion at Bergdorf Goodman, Michael Bastian knows a thing or two about American sportswear. Form and fashion collide in the spring collection of his eponymous line, inspired by Hollywood legend Paul Newman, Police drummer Stewart Copeland and Bruce Weber's first shoot for GQ, in 1981. Beachwear gets a modern update, with the designer favoring sporty karate pants over sweats. Bastian expertly blends casual easekhaki-colored basics, sleek running shorts and easy anorakswith more sophisticated suits in hemp and herringbone. A Prince of Wales suit ($2,575) shows an eye for detail with a double-breasted blazer packed with pockets and a classic pair of pleated trousers. A pink gingham shirt offset by a navy ribbed knit tie adds modern and unexpected elements of texture.
