Surf's Up
Physical therapy is often grueling, but at the Center for the Intrepid, the state of the art facilities also make it fun. Here, Marine Corporal Christopher Bryde, left, rests after practicing surfing with Baylor University physical therapy intern Mark Riebel. The two worked out in the surf pool, which shoots water up a ramp that simulates waves and allows patients to surf in place. The activity improves strength, balance and confidence.
