But when asked about working in in the surf pool, Marine Corporal Christopher Bryde simply said, "It's fun." Here, Bryde surfs in the Center for the Intrepid's surf pool. Bryde balanced on one knee and the stump of his amputated left leg, moving up and down the simulated waves for more than 20 minutes. Wounded warriors build up their strength, endurance and confidence, and many go on to complete triathlons and races as part of their recovery.
