Some wounds are inherently visible, but others remain hidden. Specialist Ashtan Wallace, a soldier in the Army Reserve, lost his left leg to bone cancer, and deployed to Afghanistan as an amputee. There, he was hit by a bomb blast and suffered traumatic brain injury. Here, physical therapist Miriam Hammerle helps Wallace stretch out before he conducts balance and stability exercises at the Brooke Army Medical Center's TBI Clinic.
