Moss was fortunate in that she was able to find good care at the Women's Prevention, Outreach & Education Center (WPOEC) in Menlo Park, Calif., part of the VA Palo Alto Health Care System. For other female veterans, it is not so easy. Only a small fraction of the nation's VA hospitals provide comprehensive health care clinics for women. Female staff members are so rare that just under 7% of women veterans can be guaranteed a female therapist.
