Edgar Miller and the Handmade Home
Alexander Vertikoff

Work in Progress
Miller understood that the apartments he created would be modified by their residents after he finished. He returned periodically to the studio he built for his partner Sol Kogen, above, adding and changing details over a span of 50 years. The banquette beneath the stained-glass windows is a recent addition, but it follows an original design.
