Edgar Miller and the Handmade Home

Edgar Miller and the Handmade Home
Alexander Vertikoff

Detail
Each of the units, originally envisioned as residences for artists, is unique, featuring what Miller called an "environment" in which every detail was embellished, every vista surprising. A child of the Far West (he was born in Idaho), Miller infused everything with the forms and themes of nature. This stained-glass window, from a unit at the North Wells Street complex, features a butterfly and other organic shapes.
