Memorial
In 1985, ground was broken to create Strawberry Fields, a special garden on the park's western edge devoted to the memory of Beatle John Lennon, who was killed nearby in December 1980. The site still draws legions of Beatles fans; the photo above was taken in 2005 on the 25th anniversary of the singer's death.
