"He was staying at the Palace Hotel on Madison Avenue, and there was this incredible security, first the Americans and then, even more, the Israelis. We didn't have a lot of time, maybe eight minutes. He had just finished being interviewed by Christiane Amanpour in the living room of his suite in the hotel, and he was really charming, a treasure, almost like a grandfather figure. He laughed a lot."
