Cutting His Teeth
Nirvana's rapid ascent to the top of the charts ended tragically in 1994, when the drug addicted, tormented Cobain took his own life. Grohl regrouped by forming Foo Fighters, where he served as lead vocalist, songwriter and guitarist. "I think about Kurt every day, and I miss him," Grohl (in concert with the Fighters in 1996, above) has recalled. "But at the same time things keep going, and I've got to make sure that things keep moving for me...I have to feel like I'm moving forward."
