In a rare move, Moscow endorses the use and consumption of several Western goods: blue jeans, potato chips and popcorn, albeit with a socialist spin. "The origin of blue jeans is not with Hollywood movie stars, but with real cowboys, who... take part in honest and hard work," wrote "Izvestia."
