Jackass star Ryan Dunn's death from drunk driving started a Twitterversy. One June evening, Dunn tweeted a photo of himself drinking. Mere hours later, he lay dead at the site of a fiery car crash in a Philadelphia suburb. "Friends don't let jackasses drink and drive," prolific movie critic Roger Ebert then tweeted, riffing off the movie franchise that launched Dunn and his friends to stardom. But it was too soon to joke, and Ebert got flack from all sides, including blogger Perez Hilton. "I just lost my best friend, I have been crying hysterical for a full day and piece of sh__ roger ebert has the gall to put in his 2 cents," tweeted Jackass star Bam Margera. Ebert ended up issuing an apology, saying, "It is tragic to lose a loved one. I also regret that my tweet about the event was considered cruel. It was not intended as cruel. It was intended as true."
