"I don't want to die." "It's okay. It's not so bad." When the Shakespeare and Co. bookstore in Paris closes down for the night, the characters on the books covers get frisky — and flirt with the existential. Director Spike Jonze teamed up with designer Olympia le Tan to create this exquisite stop-motion film with embroidery and felt. The animation is lush (Mina Harker from Dracula has incredibly bouncy hair) and the story is romantic — until the rollicking end credits, which will make you blush in a way you never thought needlework could.
Caveat: Even though the characters are made of felt, this one is decidedly NSFW.
