Prime Minister of the United Kingdom
The Prime Minister and Conservative Party leader has come under fire for his close ties to Murdoch's media empire. David Cameron hired former News of the World editor Andy Coulson as the party's communications director after Coulson left the paper following the first wave of phone-hacking revelations in 2007. Cameron was criticized for inviting Coulson to Chequers, the Prime Minister's country residence, in March 2011 two months after the hacking scandal prompted Coulson to resign from his government post. Cameron has maintained relationships with other high-profile News Corp. executives and attended a now infamous dinner with James Murdoch at then News International executive Rebekah Brooks' home over Christmas 2010.
