Fox News rarely backtracks on its pundits' statements. But when the ever-incendiary Beck called our nation's first black president a "racist," the network found the comment necessitated a disclaimer that they didn't share that view. Speaking on the morning show Fox & Friends in 2009, Beck took issue with Obama's remark that police "acted stupidly" in the arrest of Harvard scholar Henry Louis Gates, Jr. Beck sounded off about the president's supposed black bias, claiming Obama has a "deep-seated hatred for white people," and going so far as to call him "racist." The other pundits in the discussion quickly debunked Beck's statement, pointing out that many of Obama's staffers are, indeed, white.
