Former Alaska governor and 2008 Republican vice-presidential nominee Sarah Palin wasn't running for office in 2010, but she made her presence known nonetheless. While hockey moms and pit bulls co-starred in the last election, this year's midterms featured Palin's "Mama Grizzlies" conservative women more than ready to take a stand to defend their young. The folksy politico spoke of "a mom awakening" and endorsed a series of female Republican candidates like Nikki Haley and Christine O'Donnell. Was the wilderness-inspired term a catchy one? You betcha.
