Since 2007, New Orleanians have celebrated San Fermin in Nueva Orleans (SNFO) among the newest of the world's oddball festivals as a three-day homage to the storied running of the bulls in Pamplona, Spain. Instead of bulls, the festival features the Big Easy Rollergirls wearing horned helmets and wielding plastic bats to intimidate hundreds of runners. "At this point you might be asking yourself, 'Why?' " the organizers note on their website. "To which we can only respond, 'Por que no?' " Fair point.
