Giving himself a hearty pat on the back for a job well done, the former Tehran mayor made this quip shortly after releasing a five-page letter addressed to "Noble Americans" at the U.N. in 2006 that attacked George W. Bush and called for the immediate withdrawal of American troops from Iraq. "Both our nations are God-fearing, truth-loving and justice-seeking," he wrote, "and both seek dignity, respect and perfection." It was Ahmadinejad's second attempt at a letter-writing campaign; Bush refused to respond to an 18-page letter sent by the Iranian president in May.
