Before getting touched by an angel, Grace Hanadarko (Holly Hunter) touches someone else in a dramatic fashion: running over a person while driving drunk. In what promises to be a hybrid of cop drama, supernatural tale and character story, Hunter — a troubled Oklahoma City cop — gets the intervention of an angel (or, as the press material says, "angel," so don't be too sure). Hunter has won two Emmys for TV movies but this is her first series, and between the policework and dark, drunken nights of the soul, it doesn't seem to lack for dramatic material for her.
