Know what you get when you cross The Sopranos with The Prisoner? Me neither, but that seems to be what this British production is promising. Danny (David Morrissey), a tough guy with a shady past, moves with his family into the witness-protection program in a bucolic suburb. Or so it seems — it soon turns out that picture-perfect Meadowlands is inhabited by people with hidden pasts of their own, overseen by an authoritarian presence and kept in line by the fact that the outside world, where they might be recognized, is even scarier. In Meadowlands, it would seem, it's not only the housewives who are desperate.
