Dublin was the venue for some early 80s Eurovision action and it was the stuff of which legends were made. For some however hello Norway! it wasn't great news as they completed an unenviable hat trick of attaining 'nul points'.
But at the other end of the standings an epic battle took place between Germany and the UK. The voting had the nations neck and neck but the UK's Bucks Fizz would end up winning for Making Your Mind Up and by the slimmest of margins a meagre four points. What gave them the edge? Probably the moment when Jay Aston and Cheryl Baker had their skirts ripped off to reveal (as they say in the UK) a bit of leg. Male hearts would beat ever so slightly quicker that night. Inevitably, the song would go to No.1 in the UK charts thanks to those very same hearts.
