There may be doubts that Barry Bonds broke Hank Aaron's home run record cleanly. There was, however, no doubt about 756. On August 7, Bonds walloped a 3-2 pitch from the Washington Nationals' Mike Bacsik into the deepest section of AT&T Park. The cameras flashed, Bonds raised his hands, and like it or not, baseball had a new home run king. To the surprise of many, Aaron delivered a taped congratulatory message, albeit a tepid one, to Bonds over the center-field scoreboard.
