This great revival of R.C. Sheriff's 1928 play about a British company in World War I is as wrenching and as relevant as any war drama ever put onstage. Happily, it was duly recognized by the critics and the Tony nominators (except for the odd omission of Hugh Dancy, the standout in the cast). Unhappily, the audience stayed away in droves; the show will close on the day of the Tony awards, even if it wins.
Tony Outlook: And it most likely will.
