Beautiful Girls may be the song of the summer, but its fusion of lightweight rap, a Ben E. King sample and schlock lyrics hardly augurs well for a full 48-min. album. Yet Kingston's synthed-up voice and ripped-off hooks (seriously: he steals from Led Zeppelin and Diana Ross) prove surprisingly entertaining largely because, like a Jamaican Jimmy Durante, he knows how to make songs about nothing sound like something fun.
