Face Lift
Workers walk past the Hall of Supreme Harmony at the heart of the Forbidden City in Beijing. For the first time in three centuries, the palace is undergoing a much-needed renovation. Commonly known as the Jinluan Palace, it housed major events like the crowning of emperors and the declaration of wars during the Ming (1368-1644) and Qing (1644-1911) dynasties.
