The Queen, along with Prince Philip, survey the flowers left in tribute to Diana, Princess of Wales, on Sept. 5, 1997, the eve of her funeral. Diana was killed in a car crash in Paris the week before, and although she was no longer married to Prince Charles, as the mother of Princes William and Harry, she was honored with a national public funeral.
