More Wine than House
The singer's constant battle with substance abuse eventually resulted in her taking action, as she was admitted to the Priory Clinic in southwest London for treatment in early 2011. (She also had gone into rehab in 2008, following a tabloid newspaper's publication of pictures of a woman they claimed was Winehouse allegedly smoking crack cocaine.) Winehouse's sublime talent was being eclipsed by her demons and even led to her being the butt of jokes. Indeed, British comedian and actor Russell Brand's quip in 2007 was voted the most memorable Brit Awards quote of all time: "Her surname's beginning to sound like a description of her liver." In the photo above, the singer sips wine at Spain's 2008 Rock in Rio music festival.
