The singer didn't just have a well-publicized battle with drink and drugs; she also had much unwanted publicity, with seemingly frequent court appearances. In this photo from March 2009, she appears at Westminster Magistrates Court to face charges of common assault after a woman alleged that Winehouse hit her in the eye at a September 2008 Prince's Trust charity ball. Winehouse was found not guilty a few months later, but unseemly incidents were getting in the way of making her keenly awaited third album.
