Georgia Warriors
These three young men enlisted in Company D of the 3rd Regiment of the Georgia Volunteer Infantry in April 1861, two weeks after the war began. The two soldiers at left and center, Columbus C. Taylor and Jas. D. Jackson, were killed at the Battle of Malvern Hill in July 1862. The soldier on the right, James H. Porter, was mustered out of the army in January 1862.
