The American Family Association objected to the cop drama's "steamy sex scenes," and more than 50 ABC affiliates chose not to air its 1993 pilot. Over its 12-year run, NYPD Blue often flouted authority with its depictions of bare behinds, both male and female. On Jan. 4, a court threw out an FCC fine imposed on ABC for such a shot from an episode that first aired eight years ago.
