The "wardrobe malfunction" seen around the world occurred in 2004, when viewers caught a glimpse of Janet Jackson's breast during the Super Bowl halftime show. Nudity, however fleeting, has long been controversial. Back in 1973, it was included in the PBS adaptation of the play Steambath and several stations chose not to air the program as a result.
