Small Businessman
Cobbler Tom Hiers was a client of the bank who ran a shoe repair shop, "The Country Cobbler," on Wells Street in Cornelia's old downtown. He lost the store when his $246,000 in loans came due and he stopped paying, but managed to land on his feet. He now runs his business out of a storefront down the street, a new location that he says he loves.
