A Brief History of World's Fairs

Shanghai, 2010: Expo 2010
Expo 2010 Shanghai will be the first World's Fair hosted in China. Set to run from May 1 to Oct. 31, the expo is expected to draw about 70 million visitors from around the world. Just as the 2008 Summer Olympics was meant to signify China's re-emergence onto the world stage, the Shanghai World Expo will be used to mark the city's return to the forefront of global commerce and culture.
