Tucker Model 48 Torpedo: 1948
Post-war American cars incorporated the big, bold spirit of a victorious country with unlimited horizons. The Torpedo featured rocket-style exterior design, a bold grille and a rear-mounted engine that could be removed for easy service, plus a four-speed transmission. Preston Tucker's ambitious plan to mass-produce his innovative vehicle never materialized.
