A Brief History of Intergalactic Warfare

This relatively short-lived television series about the travails of Captain James T. Kirk and the crew of the Federation Starship Enterprise inspired a gigantic audience that spawned a film franchise and billions of dollars in merchandising dollars. More than anything that preceded it, it imagined worlds and civilizations far beyond our own. Charged with peacekeeping, the crew of the Enterprise weekly battled its way across galaxies, fighting Klingons, negotiating with Romulans and generally encountering various other forms of hostile alien life. In this 1967 episode, "Operation: Annihilate!" Kirk and company blast the neural parasites of Deneva with their phasers.
