This was shot in West Virginia on a section of the Mon-Fayette Freeway between the Pennsylvania and West Virginia border that was under construction. Don't go expecting scorched earth, says the film's location manager, Andrew Ullman. "The setting was somewhat actually contrary to what we were filming. This road cut through a very bucolic countryside with rolling hills, and tranquil farms. As pretty as it gets." he says. "And here we are depicting a wasteland."
