Though they exploded almost every comedy convention in their multidecade career, the Pythons maintained one very old British comedic tradition, wherein the men play the women's parts. Terry Jones, seen here at the 1982 concert at the Hollywood Bowl (subsequently turned into a theatrical film), was particularly adept at portraying screechy-voiced middle-aged women, the most memorable of which is probably the waitress in the famed SPAM sketch.
