Adapted from Christianna Brand's Nurse Matilda books, Nanny McPhee stars Emma Thompson as a magical nanny who is transformed from an ugly hag into a beautiful young woman as her charges master her lessons on manners and discipline. Thompson is also credited with the screenplay. Her efforts proved an enormous success, as the movie grossed more than $100 million worldwide and gave rise to at least one sequel, set for release in 2010.
