Lemony Snicket's a Series of Unfortunate Events, 2004
Jude Law narrates and Jim Carrey stars as Count Olaf in a film drawn from the 13-part series, begun in 1999 and attributed to one Lemony Snicket (a.k.a. Daniel Handler). The story line of the movie takes in the plots of the first three books of the series, which tell the dark tale of Olaf's attempts to deceive three children of their inherited fortune.
