Anglo-Saxon Treasure Hoard Found in U.K.
David Rowan, Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery
Cross to Bear
One of the most remarkable items is this crumpled cross, which looks as if it was carefully folded by its owner before being buried. Leslie Webster, former keeper of the department of prehistory at the British Museum, who led the team of experts, has described the hoard as "absolutely the equivalent of finding a new Lindisfarne Gospels or Book of Kells."
