The most famous Pontiac in a starring role may have been a souped-up black Trans Am named KITT, driven by David Hasselhoff in the 80s TV show "Knight Rider." Most Trans Ams, produced until 2002, did not come with bulletproof body panels or turbo boost, but they did have six or eight-cylinder engines and lines that rivaled Ford's Mustang. (The model above was unveiled in 1992, several years after the series ended.)
