Philip Johnson's Glass House

Johnson said he found it hard to read in the Glass House because the panorama of nature all around him was too distracting. In 1980 he designed this library/study which he described as his "monk's cell." It has a fireplace and a small window, as well as a skylight in its dome, but no bathroom.
