Williams' first big acting gig, the alien Mork from the planet of Ork, began as a cameo on an episode of the sitcom Happy Days. The character proved so popular that a series, Mork and Mindy, with Williams in the lead role, opposite Pam Dawber as his earthbound friend, was built around it.
