Redford followed up his turn as an amateur spy with another classic tale of Washington intrigue. Released just a few years after the true life events it depicts, All the President's Men, tells the story of the two Washington Post journalists, Bob Woodward (Redford) and Carl Bernstein (Dustin Hoffman) who unravel the Watergate scandal. The film, based on a book the two journalists had written at Redford's urging, went on to win four Academy Awards.
