The Cowardly Lion, The Wizard of Oz

In the 1935 classic The Wizard of Oz, the Cowardly Lion ... Well, it's all there in the name, isn't it? After all, he's a lion — the king of the jungle — yet is easily spooked. He sadly mopes that he could do anything "if [he] only had the nerve." Dorothy and the gang take him to see the Wizard to get some courage. He discovers it was inside of him all along. Still, totally wimpy.
