In 1989, a line of teeny dolls, each less than 1 in. in height, made their first appearance. Developed by Chris Wiggs for his daughter Kate, Polly lived in a compact-size world that a little girls could carry around, mimicking her makeup-packing mom. Inside the kiddie compact, though, was an entire universe, a Pollyville. The tiny scene housed the petite Polly and friends, and though she may have been hard to keep track of, playtime was as charming ever, even on a smaller scale.
